Sailing into the Future

Also this year, the second edition of the Coppa IBSA celebrates the values ​​of sport

 

The traditional late summer regatta of the Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano – which from its last edition was renamed “IBSA Cup” in honour of its main sponsor – took place on 31 August and 1 September 2024.

A NOW ESTABLISHED APPOINTMENT

The IBSA Cup marked the official closing of the sailing season on Lake Lugano, with two days of racing attended by sailors of all ages, from several Ticino and Swiss clubs: from young skippers on Optimists, to the most experienced sailors on Laser/ILCAs, up to the athletes of the Associazione Velabili on board the Hansa303s (boats designed to ensure a safe and accessible navigation to people with disabilities).

IBSA’S COMMITMENT TO THE WORLD OF SAILING

 

Two crews of IBSA collaborators also competed in the regatta in a friendly manner, putting themselves to the test in a new and enjoyable experience. IBSA was also present with a stand dedicated to corporate and sailing activities, which began in 2022 with the project Sailing into the Future. Together.

 

From the ocean adventures of skipper Alberto Bona on the Class40 IBSA to the collaborations with sailing and yacht clubs in Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and the United States, for inclusive sailing activities aimed at people with disabilities, these initiatives – and the IBSA Cup itself, with its competitive yet inclusive spirit – fully embody the company’s commitment to inclusion and sustainability.
