An in-depth examination of the anatomy, physiology and pathologies related to the musculoskeletal system, with a particular focus on diagnostic techniques and the correct practice of infiltrations: this is the goal of the IBSA International Academy – MSK Modules, the long-term medical training project in the musculoskeletal area created by IBSA’s Medical Affairs Division.
Launched in November 2021, this initiative is dedicated to specialists in orthopaedics, physiatry, sports medicine and rheumatology, and aims to help improve the technical skills of those working in the field of musculoskeletal diseases. It’s an on-going training and updating, supervised by a top-level scientific board and divided into modules, with a very practical focus.
The first three sessions concluded a few months ago, and the last two modules – scheduled for September and November – will address hip, knee and ankle conditions (for example synovitis, cartilage and bone lesions, tendinopathies, degenerations) through the most advanced ultrasound techniques, in order to allow doctors to acquire the best skills to perform guided infiltrations in the affected areas, so as to act exactly where the patient needs.
“IBSA’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people, first and foremost our patients’. With IBSA International Academy – MSK Modules we intend to concretely contribute to enhancing the knowledge and preparation of doctors, through a training program of absolute excellence and a scientific, content and methodological approach that is really useful in daily clinical practice”, explained Giuliana Villa, Head of IBSA’s Medical Affairs division. “For us, specialists and all healthcare professionals are critical interlocutors, and their medical training is essential in enabling them to provide the best care to patients, according to their specific needs”.
The IBSA International Academy – MSK Modules program is proving to be very successful, and the intention is to expand this training with interesting innovations at global level. See you soon for the next updates!
