Every day millions of vehicles clog the roads, causing hours of delay and much stress for drivers. In addition to making travel unsustainable, road congestion is one of the main sources of air pollution.
A problem also affecting Canton Ticino – the southern part of Switzerland, where IBSA has its headquarters – where traffic poses an increasingly significant challenge, considering the over 250,000 people who work and move around the area. Companies are a determining factor in this situation: indeed, they can significantly contribute to reducing traffic by activating sustainable mobility policies and raising awareness among their employees.
This was precisely the subject of the meeting that was held last February in Lugano, organised by the Territorial Department of Canton of Ticino with the aim of studying and sharing strategies and experiences in order to conceive a development plan in harmony with both people and the environment.
IBSA – which was among the parties invited to share their model – presented its approach to ESG policies and mobility management. For over ten years, in fact, IBSA has been urging its employees to adopt an environmentally friendly behaviour, not only in the workplace, but also in daily life.
A philosophy that translates into targeted actions, ranging from incentives for sustainable mobility to the creation of digital tools dedicated to travel management, in line with the sustainability manifesto, which permeates IBSA’s ESG activities.
