IBSA in the Netherlands and Belgium: a journey through collaborations and local subsidiaries

IBSA has built its presence in the Netherlands and Belgium through a diversified approach that combines a strategic partnership with its distributor Goodlife for the therapeutic areas of reproductive medicine, endocrinology and urology, and the direct management of aesthetic medicine, through two subsidiaries.

GOODLIFE: A STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN THREE KEY THERAPEUTIC AREAS

For over two decades, IBSA has maintained a solid partnership with Goodlife, a local distributor founded by Frits Rooth and Johan Rikhof, a collaboration that started in 2003 – initially in the therapeutic area of reproductive medicine – and which then extended also to urology and endocrinology.

The collaboration with Goodlife was, and still is, a central pillar for the development of our business in the Netherlands and Belgium”, stated Carmen Vigorelli, Sr. International Sales Manager at IBSA’s division Pharma Distributors & Business Development. “Our relationship is based on a common vision of growth and sustainable development. Mutual trust allows us to face the challenges of a constantly evolving market together”.

The collaboration with Goodlife also stands out for its ability to combine scientific expertise with an innovative vision. “Both IBSA and Goodlife”, concluded Vigorelli, “feature a constant focus on quality in their DNA, a dynamism that enabled them to successfully address the specificities of local markets. Finding a partner with whom to share an authentic bond is rare. We are grateful for this enduring partnership and we look forward to many more years of collaboration and growth”.

IBSA BELGIUM AND IBSA NETHERLANDS: TWO SUBSIDIARIES DEDICATED TO AESTHETIC MEDICINE

In more recent years, IBSA also established its presence in Belgium and the Netherlands in the field of aesthetic medicine, setting up two subsidiaries entirely dedicated to this therapeutic area.

The portfolio of aesthetic treatments includes solutions based on the patented Nahyco® technology, which allows for the delivery of high doses of hyaluronic acid, thus optimising the viscous and elastic properties of the formulation and improving its resistance to degradation.

In these countries, IBSA has leveraged its international reputation and expertise in the pharmaceutical sector to differentiate itself from its competitors. Additionally, collaborations with aesthetic clinics and local experts helped IBSA products reach an increasingly broad and loyal customer base.

The same loyalty is exhibited by the employers of the two subsidiaries: “Our colleagues in the Netherlands and Belgium appreciate IBSA’s corporate culture”, explained Giuliano Cucchi, Sr. Commercial Manager Direct Operations, IBSA Dermoaesthetics division. “They feel they are part of an international organisation that not only develops high-quality products, but also strives to ensure the well-being of both employees and patients. This sense of belonging and shared responsibility is a strong motivational factor”.

THE RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Whether it is distributors (as in the case of Goodlife) or subsidiaries (as in the case of IBSA Netherlands and IBSA Belgium), there are some common and inescapable key factors, which over the years have proven to be a common thread in the presence of IBSA in these two markets:

  • Trust: in all cases, a solid foundation of trust and transparency, characterised by open communication and mutual respect, has been essential;
  • Shared vision: the growth and development of IBSA’s subsidiaries, as well as the collaboration with Goodlife, have been possible thanks to the shared commitment to improving the lives of patients and the desire to concretely meet their needs;
  • Continuous innovation: all teams have always been open to innovation and to the exploration of new opportunities;
  • Flexibility and adaptability: the ability to adapt to changing market dynamics has been crucial to ensuring the longevity of the partnership with Goodlife and to establishing IBSA’s direct presence in the Netherlands and Belgium.
